About the Western Kentucky Coal Association

     The Western Kentucky Coal Association is the trade organization in Western Kentucky, representing the coal industry’s major issues and problems of common interest and concern.

      With such a diverse and multi-faceted industry, WKCA provides a united front in working with those issues to realize resolutions beneficial to all.

      The challenges that faces the coal industry in the coming future must be met and overcome, if the Western Kentucky coal industry is to prosper and grow.  WKCA is prepared to meet those challenges.

The goals of the Western Kentucky Coal Association are to:

  • Promoting Western Kentucky and its coal marketplace.

  • Achieving a regulatory program that is realistic and healthy, which will improve the utilization and development of Western Kentucky coal.

  • Serve as the Western Kentucky coal industry’s voice and liaison with the Kentucky general Assembly, the Congress, the state and federal regulatory agencies.

  • Bring awareness to the public of the importance of the coal and the role it plays in this nation’s Energy future, as the foundation for America’s Energy Independence.

        Through a united effort of coal companies and coal industry suppliers, the Western Kentucky Coal industry can develop its full potential while continuing to contribute to the welfare of Western Kentucky, Kentucky, and the Nation, as well as the future prosperity of the industry and its support industries.
